Allarburn Farm Shop is a partnership between Hilary and her father Dean Anderson,
run alongside but separately to the family farming enterprise.

Hilary and Dean bought the existing Allarburn Dairy business in 1996 and ran
the dairy business in parallel and in compliment to the dairy farm enterprise
they already had.

The dairy sector was sold in May 2007, and a disposal sale of their best in
UK, Gold Cup winning Hosten Dairy herd took place in the same year.  The
two day sale attracted buyers from around the world.

Selling the dairy sector of the business then left Allarburn as egg producers
and vegetable and tattie growers.

Since the existing Allarburn Diary business was bought in 1996 the volume of
vegetable and tatties grown has increased to accomodate customer demand.

The four shed poultry unit was also built at that time at Mayne Farm to supply
all the Allarburn customers with their fresh farm eggs.

The decision was taken in 2013 to expand the farm shop into the area where
the processing and packaging of the Allarburn milk used to take place,
making the farm shop three times the size and adding on a farmhouse kitchen
theme coffee shop.

“The demand got so great for our home grown produce and extensive
range of local produce it was the next logical step” explains Hilary.
